The Design
Eero Saarinen might be considered by some to be a purist when it came to his approach towards architecture and interior design. He sought the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution within an overall unity of design. To that end, he designed the Executive Chair in 1957 recognizing the importance of user comfort. Saarinen became the first to construct a chair shell from fiberglass, a pliable material that flexes in response to body weight.
At NJModern, we give credit to the design and make every effort to produce a chair that is comparable in quality to the original. We use real, steam bent, solid wood legs not plywood. We offer variety of hardwoods such as American Walnut or Natural, Black or Wenge (espresso) stained Ash wood. Our reproduction Executive Armchair is available in various fabric and leather upholstery options and is also available in the classic stainless steel leg as a separate item. Our replica of the Executive Chair is available in various fabric and leather upholstery options and will look fabulous in any setting!
